The governor of Maine issued a State of Civil Emergency for all of Maine’s coastal counties after a storm caused significant flooding and infrastructure damage. The State of Civil Emergency allows for the mobilization of Maine resources to assist and support response and recovery efforts while also allowing the state to seek disaster support from the federal government.
Maine Emergency Management Agency (MEMA) and Maine Department of Maine Resources (DMR) combined efforts to work with local partners to assess damages. MEMA and DMR also urged individuals of private industry and privately owned commercial infrastructure who sustained property damage to document and report damages by filling out the Business and Agricultural Initial Damage Assessment Survey online.
Residents who sustained damage to their primary residence were urged to report their damage to 211 Maine or report the damage by filling out the Individual & Households Initial Damage Assessment Survey online.
